Mystery Bearded Man Seen Cheering After Charlie Kirk Assassination
A disturbing video has surfaced online appearing to show a young bearded man celebrating in the moments after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University.
The footage, widely shared across social media after being clipped from television feeds, shows a man in a black T-shirt and backwards baseball cap pumping his fists and cheering immediately after the gunshot rang out. While much of the crowd can be seen diving to the ground in panic, the man remains standing, appearing to look back toward the direction of the shot.
Charlie Kirk, 31, a conservative commentator and father of two, was struck in the neck by a single round while speaking at a campus event in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday afternoon. The assassin fired from an elevated rooftop before fleeing on foot, sparking an intensive manhunt.
Online reaction to the video has been fierce. “This guy happens to know where the shooter was and is looking back, cheering him on after the lifeless body of Charlie Kirk has fallen to the ground,” one X user wrote. Another added: “This guy cheered after Charlie Kirk was assassinated. I have no words left.”
Others condemned the apparent display of approval as “psychotic,” questioning how someone could cheer while fellow spectators screamed in fear and Kirk lay dying.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Department confirmed it has been made aware of the footage. Meanwhile, the FBI and local police continue their search for Kirk’s killer.
