Warrant Issued for Hillsboro Man in Fatal Highway 31 Crash
On September 10, 2025, Hartselle Police announced a murder warrant for 40-year-old Archie Hale of Hillsboro in connection with a deadly crash on September 6. Investigators said Hale was driving at a very high speed westbound on Highway 36 when he ran a red light at Highway 31 and struck another vehicle traveling north. A juvenile passenger in that vehicle was killed.
Police said Hale’s reckless driving showed “extreme indifference to human life.” He remains hospitalized with serious injuries under police watch and will be held without bond once released.
In addition to murder, Hale faces charges from Priceville Police including Attempting to Elude, DUI, Reckless Endangerment, Possession with Intent, and other moving violations totaling $296,000 in bonds.
Officials met with the victim’s family to assure them the investigation is ongoing and that additional charges may follow as injuries are fully documented.
