Jackson Mother and Five Teenagers Arrested in String of Burglaries and Auto Thefts

JACKSON, Miss. — Jackson police say a mother and five teenagers have been arrested following a series of burglaries and auto thefts that stretched across several weeks.

According to Detective Tommie Brown with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), the arrests were made on September 12, 2025. The suspects include a 14-year-old, three 15-year-olds, and a 16-year-old, all of whom now face three counts of business burglary and five counts of auto theft.

Investigators allege that three of the teens were responsible for breaking into the Tobacco and Vape Shop in the 4800 block of Highway 18 on three separate occasions — August 6, 18, and 24. Authorities also linked the group to the theft of five vehicles between August and September 10, 2025.

Police say the teens were not acting alone. Chasity Davis, 40, the mother of one of the teenagers, was also taken into custody. She is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after investigators determined she had knowledge of her son’s involvement in the crimes.

All suspects remain under investigation as police work to determine whether the group may be connected to additional offenses in the area.
