BREAKING | Manhunt Underway for McCaysville Shooting Suspect
McCaysville, GA — September 13, 2025
Authorities have launched a manhunt for Timothy Craig Ramsey, 26, who is accused of shooting McCaysville Police Captain Brantley Worley.
The incident occurred late Friday evening during an encounter in McCaysville, a small city near the Georgia–Tennessee border. Officials say Captain Worley was shot while on duty and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. His condition has not yet been publicly released.
Ramsey fled the scene and remains at large. Law enforcement agencies across the region, including the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), are assisting in the search. Authorities warn that Ramsey is considered armed and dangerous and urge the public not to approach him.
