The Kilconieron GAA Club, Kilconieron Camogie Club, and the wider Clostoken and Kilconieron communities are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Niamh Delahunty of Cahertinny. Niamh, a cherished member of the Camogie Club, represented her team with dedication and skill over the years and played an integral part in many of its successes.
Beyond the sporting field, Niamh was known as a vibrant and caring young teacher who brought energy, compassion, and enthusiasm to her classroom. Her sudden passing on Tuesday has left family, friends, colleagues, and students heartbroken.
Those who knew Niamh remember her as someone who “brought love, laughter, and light to every room.” Her kindness and passion for the children she worked with made her an inspiring role model, admired not only for her sporting achievements but also for her generosity and warmth.
The community extends its deepest sympathies to her parents Colette and Mark, her siblings Róisín, Cathal, and Tara, her grandmother Maeve, and all the Keary and Delahunty families, along with extended relatives and friends who are grieving this tremendous loss.
Niamh’s legacy as a dedicated teacher, loyal teammate, and loving family member will endure. The community will remember her spirit on and off the field, her commitment to young people, and the light she brought to all who crossed her path.
May she rest in peace.
