Millville Mourns the Loss of Officer Ricardo “Richie” Ramos

Millville – The Millville community is mourning the loss of Officer Ricardo “Richie” Ramos, who passed away on September 11 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Officer Ramos dedicated nearly 20 years of his life to the Millville Police Department, serving as a patrolman, detective, and field training officer. Known for his professionalism, commitment, and deep care for the community he grew up in, Richie made a lasting impact both on and off duty.

His illness was discovered following a seizure, leading to a diagnosis of glioblastoma. Despite undergoing aggressive treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation, Officer Ramos faced his illness with remarkable strength and determination. During his battle, a GoFundMe campaign raised over $46,000 to support his family, reflecting the deep respect and love the community held for him.

Officer Ramos passed away surrounded by family and close friends. He will be remembered not only for his dedication to law enforcement but also for his kindness, leadership, and the positive example he set for others.
