Authorities say multiple teenagers, wearing face masks and brandishing AR-style rifles, entered the market, causing panic among staff and customers. Those inside quickly sought cover, with the store owners and employees reportedly drawing their own firearms to defend themselves and the patrons.
During the chaos, shots were fired as the suspects fled the scene, running northbound on Bellefountaine while continuing to discharge their weapons. Despite the exchange of gunfire, no one was hurt.

“This is a reminder that business owners and staff have the right to protect themselves,” a spokesperson said, emphasizing the importance of public safety and lawful self-defense.
The incident highlights rising concerns about armed robberies in the area and the risks faced by both employees and customers during such violent events. Local authorities are reviewing security footage and eyewitness accounts to piece together the sequence of events and determine any additional charges for the fleeing suspects.
