BREAKING: Five Officers Shot While Serving Warrant in York County — Suspect Reportedly Dead
York County, PA — A violent conflict erupted Wednesday afternoon in North Codorus Township when law enforcement officers serving a warrant came under gunfire. Five officers were struck, with their conditions ranging from critical to grave. According to multiple sources, the suspect later died by suicide.
The incident reportedly occurred around 2:00 PM on a rural road about an hour southwest of Hershey. Four of the injured officers are believed to be from the York Regional Police Department, while the fifth is a York County sheriff’s deputy.
Authorities issued a shelter-in-place order for residents in North Codorus Township as emergency responders worked to secure the area. A medical helicopter was dispatched to assist the wounded.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis have acknowledged the situation, offering support and calling on the public to comply with law enforcement guidance.
At this time, investigators are piecing together what led to the warrant execution turning into a deadly confrontation. Names of all involved parties have not yet been released, and authorities are expected to provide more information as the investigation develops
