The breakthrough came on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, following the discovery of human remains believed to be those of Susan, buried in the backyard of a Port Lincoln residence. The discovery has prompted a renewed investigation into the long-unsolved case, offering hope for justice after more than 20 years.

A 64-year-old man from Port Lincoln has been formally charged with murder and is scheduled to appear in Port Lincoln Magistrates Court on Thursday, 18 September. Authorities have emphasized that identification of the remains is ongoing, and official confirmation will be provided once all forensic processes are complete.
