Florida Woman Vanishes During Cross-Country Road Trip, Leaves Bizarre Note

Authorities are investigating the mysterious disappearance of Ganna Kovrizhynkh, a 38-year-old Florida woman who vanished while on a cross-country road trip. Kovrizhynkh was last heard from on July 5, 2025, while traveling through San Diego County, California.

A week later, her Jeep Grand Cherokee and camper were found abandoned in the small community of Potrero, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NAMUS). Authorities remain uncertain about her destination or intentions.

Adding to the mystery, Kovrizhynkh’s mother received a photograph of a letter accompanied by GPS coordinates, which appeared to instruct her to take possession of Ganna’s personal assets. The unusual message has left investigators puzzled.

San Diego Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jacob Klepach told NBC San Diego, “We aren’t sure what her destination was. We believe she was touring the country, left her vehicle in Potrero, and never returned.” Police have not ruled out foul play, but they also consider the possibility that Kovrizhynkh left voluntarily.

Kovrizhynkh is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing around 100 pounds, with blond hair, blue eyes, and tattoos on her arms. Authorities note she may be wearing a wig and using the alias “Angel Volnaya.”

Her last known address was Hallandale Beach, Florida, where friends report they have not heard from her for several months. One theory suggests she may have crossed into the Tecate region of Mexico, though no confirmation exists.

Anyone with information about Kovrizhynkh’s whereabouts is urged to contact the San Diego Sheriff’s Department immediately.
