Jackson Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Stabbing

JACKSON, Miss. — September 18, 2025 — A fatal stabbing on Thursday afternoon has left one man dead and another facing a murder charge in Jackson.

According to the Jackson Police Department (JPD), officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 2500 block of Idaho Street. When they arrived, they discovered Duane Kyles suffering from serious stab wounds. Despite emergency efforts, Kyles was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators quickly identified a suspect and arrested 27-year-old Dequency Jordan in connection with the killing. Jordan has since been charged with murder and is being held while the investigation continues.

Police have not released additional details about what led to the stabbing, and no motive has been confirmed at this stage.
