Tragedy in Georgetown: Mother, Daughter, and Cousin Found Fatally Shot in Apartment

GEORGETOWN, Texas — A community is in mourning after three family members — including an 8-year-old girl — were found shot and killed inside a Georgetown apartment Saturday night.

Police identified the victims as 8-year-old Olivia Brooks, her mother Doneisha Brooks, and Doneisha’s cousin Alonzo Hawkins. Authorities say all three were discovered inside Doneisha’s apartment after officers responded to a welfare check. Each had sustained gunshot wounds.

Family members describe Olivia as a bright and loving child with her whole future ahead of her. Doneisha and Olivia had recently moved to Georgetown from Mansfield, Texas, in search of a fresh start. Loved ones are now working to bring all three back to Mansfield for funeral services.

Georgetown police say they have identified a person of interest but have not publicly released that person’s identity. As of Sunday night, the individual has not been located.

The triple homicide has shocked the Georgetown community, prompting an outpouring of grief and support for the victims’ family. Authorities urge anyone with information about the killings or the person of interest to contact Georgetown Police immediately.

“This is a heartbreaking loss for everyone involved,” a spokesperson said. “We are working tirelessly to bring justice to this family.”
