Fallen Officer: Detective Sergeant Cody Becker Remembered for Heroism and Service

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The Northern York County Regional Police Department is mourning the loss of Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, who was tragically killed in the line of duty Wednesday during a shooting incident while responding to a domestic violence call.

Becker, alongside fellow officers Detective Mark Baker and Detective Isaiah Emenheiser, was serving his community when the fatal incident occurred. His dedication to protecting others was evident throughout his career and has left a lasting impact on both colleagues and residents.

Cody Becker was widely regarded as a selfless and courageous officer. One of his most notable acts of bravery came in September 2011, when he risked his own life to rescue a mother and her three children from a burning apartment building. He and another officer entered the third-floor unit, carrying the family to safety and earning commendations for their heroism.

Friends and coworkers describe Becker as a devoted public servant, a loyal friend, and a protector of his community. His loss leaves a deep void not only within law enforcement but also among the residents he served.

“Our hearts are with his family, both at home and in uniform,” said a police spokesperson. “His courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.”

Funeral arrangements and memorial details will be announced as they become available.

Rest easy, Detective Sergeant Becker. Your service and bravery will be remembered always.
