Bexhill Gateway Club Pays Tribute to Beloved Member Brian
The Bexhill Gateway Club gathered last week to honor the memory of their dear friend Brian, who sadly passed away last month while attending a Brighton Seagulls match – a team and pastime he dearly loved.
In a heartfelt tribute, the club hosted a special disco dedicated to Brian, complete with a blue and white theme in recognition of the Seagulls. The venue was decorated with team flags, while music, cakes, and laughter filled the evening. Organizers said it was exactly the kind of joyful celebration Brian would have wanted – a night surrounded by friends, football spirit, and smiles.
Members described Brian as a cherished part of the Gateway family, someone whose love for football and infectious enthusiasm left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. The evening was not only a chance to mourn his passing, but also to reflect on the joy and passion he brought to the community.
Brian’s funeral service will take place on Monday, October 6, at 2 p.m. at Eastbourne Crematorium, followed by a wake at Bexhill United Football Club. Friends, family, and supporters are invited to come together once more to celebrate his life.
The Gateway Club expressed gratitude to everyone who attended the tribute and helped make the event such a meaningful occasion. While Brian may no longer be present, his spirit, his passion for football, and the warmth he shared with others will always remain a part of the Gateway family.
