OREM, Utah — A suspect is in custody after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, according to school officials.

University spokespersons confirmed that shots were fired from a building roughly 200 yards away from where Kirk was addressing students as part of his American Comeback Tour.
