With heavy hearts, we remember Karen Gottschalk, who passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community.
Born in Youngstown, OH, Karen was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, where she met the love of her life, Gary. Their bond grew into a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a warm and nurturing home, raising three daughters who were the center of Karen’s world.
Karen’s compassion and creativity shone through in everything she did. She had a passion for crafting, using her talent to create handmade cards that brought joy to children at Akron Children’s Hospital. Her acts of kindness, both big and small, touched the lives of many, and her ability to make everyone feel like family was one of her greatest gifts.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends who cherished her warmth and generosity. While her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of love and giving will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A visitation will be held on March 16 at Anthony Funeral Home – Akron Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life service. In honor of Karen’s compassionate spirit, donations can be made to Akron Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
