Woman Killed in Her Home While Children Were Inside

Authorities have identified the woman shot and killed inside her home as 44-year-old Robyn Jones, whose tragic death has left her family and community in shock.

According to investigators, Jones had invited the suspect, identified in court records as Sawyer, into her home on what should have been an ordinary evening. While music played in the kitchen, Sawyer allegedly shot Jones in the back of the head.

Three children — two 5-year-olds and a 16-year-old — were inside the home at the time of the killing. Another woman present was also physically and sexually assaulted by Sawyer, who allegedly threatened to kill her if she made a sound.

After fleeing the scene, Sawyer returned, kicked in the door, and destroyed Jones’ phone, authorities said.

Court documents reveal that Sawyer was already on probation for drug charges, unlawful use of a weapon, and resisting arrest at the time of the attack. He has since been denied bond and remains in custody.

This devastating crime has left a family shattered, with young children forced to witness unimaginable violence. Friends and community members are urging donations to assist with funeral expenses.
