Wagner Foodservice Mourns the Loss of COO Sal Furno
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sal Furno, our Chief Operating Officer at Wagner Foodservice and a longtime District 31 resident. Sal passed away very suddenly after a short battle with cancer, leaving behind a tremendous legacy both professionally and personally.
Sal was an industry icon and a true foodservice legend. Over the course of his remarkable career, he was instrumental in shaping the industry, leading with vision, passion, and dedication. At Wagner Foodservice, Sal was not only a respected executive but also a beloved leader whose influence extended far beyond the workplace. His unwavering commitment, problem-solving nature, and ability to inspire those around him left an indelible mark on the company and the countless lives he touched.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sal will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his wife Michele, his children Chris and Tina, and his grandchildren more than anything in the world. Those who knew him best admired his patriotism, strong work ethic, and his gift for bringing joy and laughter into every encounter. Sal had a rare way of making everyone feel like family.
