The Colorado Springs community is mourning the loss of Amiya Jordan McDowell, who passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 24. Born on February 8, 2001, Amiya spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and a passion for creativity that touched everyone who knew her.

A graduate of Palmer High School, Amiya followed her love for beauty by studying Cosmetology, and she quickly developed a reputation for her artistry and attention to detail. She also had a remarkable talent for baking, delighting her loved ones with cakes crafted for life’s most important moments. In recent years, Amiya expanded her gifts online as a social media influencer, sharing tutorials on cooking, hair, and makeup—bringing joy and inspiration to countless followers.

Beyond her talents, Amiya’s warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication to her family were at the heart of her life. She was a loving mother to Penelope and Nova McDowell, and her children, along with her family, were her greatest pride and joy.

Amiya is survived by her parents, Stephanie Luna and Kris Higginbotham, step-parents, grandparents, and siblings, who will continue to honor her memory and legacy. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Luna.

Though Amiya’s life was far too short, the impact of her love, creativity, and kindness will continue to resonate. Her family and friends remember her as a vibrant spirit who brought light and joy wherever she went. Amiya Jordan McDowell will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
