Attempted Armed Robbery at Gateway Market Leads to Shots Fired

Dr. Hodges graduated in 1972 and completed his Residency at an Equine Hospital in Georgia. In 1973, he returned home and fulfilled his dream of opening his own veterinary clinic. For decades, he served the community with steadfast commitment, often going above and beyond to ensure the well-being of every animal entrusted to his care.

Although he eventually attempted retirement, it quickly became clear that Dr. Hodges’ passion for veterinary medicine was inseparable from who he was. In 2015, he founded Western Veterinary Hospital, where he worked with the same energy and compassion that had defined his career. He finally embraced his “real” retirement in December 2024, closing a remarkable chapter of service that spanned over half a century.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Hodges was beloved as a mentor, colleague, and friend. He inspired others with his humility, work ethic, and gentle spirit.

Dr. Hodges’ passing leaves an immeasurable void in the veterinary community and in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and service will live on.
