Hawthorne Mourns the Loss of Young Warrior, Gia Gentile
The Hawthorne, NY community is heartbroken over the unexpected passing of Gia Gentile, a cherished young girl whose radiant spirit and infectious smile touched countless lives.
At just six years old, Gia was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. Despite her battle, she remained full of joy and determination, attending Hawthorne Elementary School and inspiring those around her with her unwavering strength.
Her parents, Dana and Carmine Gentile, became passionate advocates for childhood cancer awareness and research, dedicating themselves to helping other families facing similar challenges. Gia’s courage and resilience left a lasting impact, and her legacy of love, hope, and strength will be forever remembered.
